The first committee tried to gather information about the graduates
living in different countries. Different chapters were formed in Beirut, Los Angeles, and in Montreal.
The executive committee of the chapter in California has had the full privilege to work and act under
. In 1987 the executive committee
of the graduates in Los Angles provided a thousand dollar financial donation for the construction of sister
Hedwig's
bust.
Achievements from 1986-1999
I. In 1986, the Alumni Association organized a luncheon for all the
graduates and under graduates in Anjar. The occasion was the thirtieth anniversary of the first graduates.
Since then, it has become an annual activity. Every year dinner is held for this
purpose in July
In the spring of 1986 in May, the thirtieth anniversary
of the graduates was celebrated by the Alumni Ass. and sponsored by Mr. Panos Panoyan, who contributed for the expenses of all the sports uniforms
for the students of the school. The music band(FANFAR) of Homenetmen of
Anjar accompanied the students marching to the football field.
II. In 1996, the Alumni Association dinner proved to be outstanding, joyful and unforgettable. A considerable number of graduates from different countries all over the world were present. A gathering of graduates on the campus of the school preceded this dinner. It is important to mention that a reunion of graduates was also organized in Los Angeles, California, on July 16, 1994, where the chairman of our association Mr. George Apelian and Panos Panoyan were present by a special invitation.
III. The association organized different parties on different occasions like Christmas, Easter...throughout the year.
Cultural activities.
The Association has organized or sponsored the following activities:
1.Contests in general knowledge, composition, sports, …
prizes were given to the winners.
2.In addition, a yearly award has been given to a student
who excels in academic achievement.
3.Every year, at Christmas and New Year, the association
contributes financially to the expenses of the celebration in the school.
4.Alumni Association also encourages theatrical activities.
In 1988, on the fourth of September, the Dzizagh performance group performed a play in Hedwig hall; the
association sponsored this play.
5.Shiraz, the school’s yearbook was also the center of
interest. In 1988, Shiraz was published after a long absence. The Association took the responsibility of its
distribution outside Lebanon and it sent many copies to U.S.A. and Canada.
6.The Alumni Association feels the responsibility of assisting
our people in Armenia. For this purpose, a scholarship, as a financial aid, has been given to a student
in Artzakh for several years.
7.In 1994, April 10, the Association organized a celebration
to commemorate the tenth anniversary of sister
Hedwig's death. A program was performed in
Hedwig hall. After the program all those who were present went to the cemetery to pay
respects to Sister Mary, buried in anjar..
