A unique Saturday on the campus of the Arm. Evangelical Secondary School- Anjar |
On Saturday, 20th of May 2000, the students of the seven
Evangelical Armenian Evangelical Schools gathered on the campus of our school to
have their final games in mini football, basketball, chess and rope pull.
One could see different colors mixed up together. Each shirt color was
representing a particular school. Different games were taking place at different
corners of the school, which were being cheered by teachers, parents and
students.
The students of our school did a parade. While parading they made different
figures.
These games lasted around 5 o'clock in the afternoon. Cups and medals were given
to the winners. The students of our school took the lion's share.
On this happy occasion, the Alumni Association of our school with the
cooperation of the Parent's committee of the school has opened a canteen to sell
refreshments, sandwiches .
There were two big surprises for the guests. The first was the scientific
exhibition and the animal farm, prepared by the school's scientific club, and
the second was the hot air balloon that was prepared under the guidance of Mr.
Garo Bakkalian.
The exhibition was in the Hedwig Hall, and the animal farm near the "chanits"
hall. During the exposition the blood group of the visitors were tested. The
animal farm attracted mostly the attention of the elementary classes.
The final event was the raising of the hot air balloon. Because of the strong
win, the first attempt was a failure. The nylon balloon could not withstand the
strong wind and torn apart. After repairing it , around seven o'clock, the
balloon successfully rose in the sunset. It rose 60 meters high and stayed in
air for 2 hours.
For the success of these activities we would like to convey our special thanks
to the principals, teachers, students and parents . Also special thanks to MP.s
G. Kassarji and V. Dedeyan that respected us by their presence.
We hope this event will be repeated in the coming years. " Darose amen darineroun"
