This year the school trip was to monument of April 24 in Bikfaya and
Jaita Caves. The students paid the entrance fee for the Jaita ($12) and the
school cared the other expenses.
We first went to Bikfaya to pay a visit to to the monument of April 24, which
was erected in 1969 , in memory of all those that were massacred during
the Armenian Genocide, carried out by the Ottoman Empire. All the students and
teachers respected the memory of the Genocide by standing 1 minute in silence .
We reached the Jaita caves around 11 o'clock. We first went to the Upper
Cave by Cable Way . It was really fantastic to see the stalactites a and
stalagmites. The best one, in my opinion was the one that was exactly a
mushroom. " Ya Allah" , words of admiration, were being heard inside the cave.
Sometimes the echo of whistles really caused displeasure...
After the visit of the upper cave, which took about three quarters of an hours,
we went to the lower cave. Inside the lower cave was very cold. We took a trip
by small boats in the cave. After the trip there was a short show about the
caves. After attending the documentary show, by a train we went to the exit. Up
till now it was fantastic.
To have the lunch we went to FUN TIME PIZZA place. There were amusement games we
played games while waiting for the pizza. After waiting and while playing, the
pizzas were ready.... " Ya Allah shou Hai Pizza",... a disk of radius 6cm, and
nothing over it. It was a great surprise for everyone of us. At first we
thought it was the April Fools day... On the way back, we stopped to have
sandwiches. We were in Anjar at 5 o'clock. Thanks to all that supported
this trip financially.
